Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has launched the new Rumion G AT variant in the Indian market. The brand has also reopened bookings for the E-CNG variant of the Toyota Rumion. The all-new automatic variant is available at a price tag of INR 13 lakh (ex-showroom). Deliveries of the new variant are set to commence on May 5, 2024, while bookings are now open for a token amount of INR 11,000.

Previously, Toyota stopped taking reservations for the Rumion E-CNG variant in September 2023 due to increasing demand for the MPV. The company recently released a statement that read, “The demand has surpassed our expectations, resulting in a long delivery time across variants, especially for the E-CNG option. This has necessitated us to temporarily halt bookings of the E-CNG option ONLY to avoid customer inconvenience due to a longer waiting period."

The Toyota Rumion G AT houses a 17.78-cm SmartPlay Cast Touchscreen audio system along with Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto. The automatic trim comes loaded with features like Toyota i-Connect, lock/unlock, hazard lights, providing remote control for climate, and more. For safety, the car has features like ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, dual front airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill Hold, and more.

The Rumion line-up is now available in seven trims, incorporating S, G, V grade, and the E-CNG: S variant. In India, the Toyota Rumion price range starts at INR 10.44 lakh and goes up to INR 13.73 lakh (ex-showroom). Powering the Toyota Rumion G AT variant is a 1.5-litre K-series petrol engine that churns out 102 bhp of power at 6000 rpm and a peak torque of 136.8 Nm at 4400 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. In addition, the CNG variant of the Rumion delivers an output of 87 bhp at 5500 rpm and a peak torque of 121.5 Nm at 4200 rpm.

Although the Toyota Rumion shares some similarities with the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, its cosmetic alterations and design set it apart from the Ertiga. These cosmetic enhancements include a revamped front bumper along with a chrome-edged air dam grille and 15-inch alloy wheels with a two-toned machined finish.
