BMW Motorrad India is gearing up to launch the 2021 R 1250 GS Adventure motorcycle range in the country next month. As per a recent media report, the bike maker has started accepting bookings for BMW R 1250 GS and GSA. Interested buyers can get the bookings done at the authorized BMW Motorrad dealerships in India.
The new BMW R 1250 GS and GSA come with an updated feature list. Both motorcycles get Dynamic Traction Control and an Eco mode as standard. Moving on, both bikes also get the BMW Integral ABS Pro system, which is a combi-braking system that engages both the front and rear brakes simultaneously. Also, to adjust the braking performance of the bikes, the aforementioned system works along with the six-axis IMU. Besides these updates, the R 1250 GS range features a new adaptive cornering LED headlight that comes with a reflector that can swivel up to 30 degrees for improved visibility around the corners. Additionally, the bikes come equipped with heated grips that offer five stages of heat adjustment all controlled through the TFT instrument console and heated rider & passenger seats.
BMW has introduced new color options with these updated bikes. The BMW R 1250 GS is offered in Triple Black and Solid White color schemes. While the R 1250 GS Adventure is sold in Triple Black with a new Ice Grey color. BMW might also launch the bikes with the 'Edition 40 Years GS' black and yellow paint schemes. Besides these, the BMW white, red and blue Rallye colours will also be available.
Performance-wise, the updated BMW R 1250 GS range is powered by a BS-compliant 1254cc boxer-twin engine that generates a maximum power of 136 bhp at 7750rpm and a peak torque of 143 Nm at 6250rpm. The motor is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. It further comes with a ShiftCam technology, which is BMW’s version of variable valve control. Once launched, the deliveries of the bikes might begin thereafter. Both bikes will rival the likes of Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin.
