Ford India is planning to give a mid-life refresh to the Ecosport. The updated model might be launched in the country towards the end of the year. Furthermore, the American manufacturer has started testing the facelifted version of the sub-compact SUV in India ahead of its official launch. The spy shots of the same have been leaked online. The test mule of the Ecosport facelift spotted in the images was partially camouflaged. Despite that, we were able to figure out the front-end design of the model.

As per the spy shots, we could see new inverted L-shaped DRLs on the lower end of the bumper. It gets a sleeker headlamp assembly. The front fascia is also seen flaunting new circular fog lights, a new grille, and a redesigned bumper. Moving to the side profile of the SUV, it gets a new set of 5-spoke alloy wheels. There is no camouflage on the rear end of the Ecosport facelift. This further confirms that the rear end design remains unchanged. It continues to feature wrap-around tail lamps, a high-mounted stop lamp with integrated spoiler, roof rails, spare wheel mounted upright tailgate and raked windshield.

The interior details of the 2021 Ford Ecosport facelift have not been revealed yet. However, we could expect the updated model to get a new upholstery along with an updated Sync3 infotainment unit. Since the model gets a mid-life update, it might come equipped with new features pertaining to convenience, comfort, safety, and connectivity.

Performance-wise, the Ecosport facelift might be offered with the same 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine options as present on the current model. At present, the 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine churns out a maximum power of 121 bhp and a peak torque of 149 Nm. The motor is further linked to a 5-speed manual gearbox along with a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox as an option. The 1.5-litre diesel mill produces 99 bhp power and 215 Nm peak torque while being mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox only.
