KTM India dealers have unofficially started taking bookings for the upcoming RC 200 and RC 390 in the country. Just a day back, we saw the production-ready 2021 KTM RC 390 and now our friends at AutoCar India have come to know that multiple dealers in several cities are taking pre-orders for both the bikes at a token payment between Rs 1000 to Rs 5000. However, a few dealers are also asking for an initial deposit of Rs 10000 for any of these motorcycles. The 2021 KTM RC 200 and KTM 390 are expected to launch in July-August in the Indian market.
The ACI report further states that the bookings are made against the current models only but it will be transferred to the new-gen models once they are launched in India. Moreover, a customer also has the option of cancelling the booking and asking for a refund if the new-gen models do not match his/her expectations. As clear by the spy-image, the 2021 KTM RC 390 will gain a TFT display along with a quickshifter. On the other hand, the 2021 KTM RC 200 will boast of an all-digital LCD instrument console with technical updates. The styling updates will be more or less similar for both the bikes in the form of a new headlamp unit (borrowed from the Duke models), revamped chassis with a bolt-on sub-frame, and new wheels and brakes.
The 2021 RC 200 could be expensive by a few thousands as compared to the present model and priced between Rs 2.10-2.15 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom) upon the launch. The 2021 KTM RC 390 will be premium by at least Rs 10,000 if not more as it has received extensive features and updated. The price could be somewhere between Rs 2.65-2.80 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom). The KTM RC 200 is at loggerheads with the likes of Bajaj Pulsar RS 200, Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 and Yamaha YZF-R15 while the KTM RC 390 takes on the likes of Kawasaki Ninja 300, TVS Apache RR 310 and BMW G 310R in the Indian market. Both the motorcycles are expected to be offered in a single fully loaded variant with two color options.
