Dacia, the sister brand of Renault, has unveiled the 2021 Duster for the European markets. Being a mid-cycle facelift, it comes with subtle updates at the outside as well as inside the cabin. The 2021 Renault Duster facelift will not be introduced in the Indian market as the French brand had already launched the updated version of the SUV in March last year in the country. In fact, it also added a 1.3L turbocharged petrol engine to the existing powertrain line-up of the SUV in August 2020. Renault Duster takes on the likes of Maruti S-Cross, Nisaan Kicks and likes in India.
Speaking of the exterior styling, the 2021 Renault Duster comes with very subtle cosmetic updates such as a new 3D chromed radiator grille, all-new LED headlamps with Y-shaped LED DRLs and a tweaked bumper. It also debuts front LED direction indicators. The rear profile gets a new tail-lamp cluster with restyled indicators and a new spoiler unit. The lights have been designed keeping in mind the latest design identity of Dacia cars. The side profile retains the majority of elements of the pre-facelift model, save for the newly designed alloy wheels. The cabin features a new upholstery with a redesigned centre console. The centre console sits higher than before and comes with a retractable armrest.
As for features, the 2021 Renault Duster has been equipped with a 3.5-inch digital instrument console, automatic headlamps, heated front seats, automatic climate control, USB charging sockets, cruise control and a new 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system as standard. In addition, the four-wheel-drive variants will get a 4x4 Monitor with altimeter, inclinometer and compass functions. The SUV is offered with a 1.0L turbocharged TCe petrol engine with maximum power of 89 bhp while there is also a 1.3L TCe petrol motor with power outputs of 128 bhp and 148 bhp. The diesel variants have a 1.5L mill at the helm with highest power output of 113 bhp. A dual-clutch automatic EDC gearbox is offered as optional besides the standard manual transmission.
