Suzuki Motorcycle India has reopened the bookings for the 2021 Hayabusa superbike in the country. The Japanese bikemaker has started taking pre-orders for the second batch of the superbikes at a token payment of Rs 1 Lakh. Being retailed as a CBU, the deliveries of the second batch are believed to commence from August. The 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa was launched at Rs 16.45 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, India) on April 26. However, the initial batch of 101 units was sold out within two days of its launch and hence, it had to temporarily suspend the bookings.
Suzuki has given the Hayabusa a full-fledged update after a gap of 13 years. However, despite the upgrades, it appears mostly identical to its predecessor. Some of the notable features of the 2021 Hayabusa are Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (SIRS), Motion Track Traction Control, Active Speed Limiter, Power Mode Selector, Engine Brake Control and Anti-lift Control. The new batch of the 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa can be booked online at the company's official website. Interested buyers can also visit Suzuki dealerships and book it by paying Rs 1 Lakh. For those asking, the new Suzuki Hayabusa is substantially more expensive than the preceding model which used to cost Rs 13.74 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi) due to being locally manufactured.
The 2021 Hayabusa is powered by a BS6 compliant 1340cc 4-cylinder in-line liquid cooled petrol engine which delivers top power of 187 bhp at 9,700 rpm and peak torque of 150 Nm at 7,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission which comes with lighter pistons, new connecting rods and fuel injectors. It is available in three dual-tone color choices namely Glass Sparkle Black/Candy Burnt Gold, Metallic Mat Sword Silver/Candy Daring Red and Pearl Brilliant White/Metallic Mat Stellar Blue. The new bike is lighter by nearly 2 kgs than the previous-gen model. It comes with Active Speed Limiter, a first in the motorcycle industry feature, that allows the rider to set a speed limit the bike should not exceed.
