The 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan AllSpace has made its world premiere and it will be available both in the U.S. and worldwide. The SUV comes with styling updates, new features and connected car tech while it is expected to go on sale in early 2022 in the Indian market. It will be launched in the American markets firstly in July this year. Being based on the standard 5-seater version of the SUV, the 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan AllSpace will rival the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and MG Gloster in India.
As for styling, the new Tiguan AllSpace comes with a redesigned front fascia with a wide grille and distinctive bumper. It also flaunts LED headlights with daytime running lights (DRLs) which are offered with an illuminated light line flanking the VW logo. The side profile is dominated by the character line which stretches from the front fender through to the standard LED tail lights. The 'Tiguan' lettering at the rear is inspired by the recent VW products such as Arteon and Taos. The 2022 Tiguan AllSpace can be availed in eight exterior paint schemes which also include two new colors namely Oryx White and Kings Red Metallic. The SUV will be available with different wheel alloy wheels ranging from 17-inch to 20-inch.
As for cabin, the 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan AllSpace boasts of Volkswagen Digital Cockpit instrument cluster with an 8-inch display as standard. Though, 10-inch Digital Cockpit Pro and Volkswagen Car-Net with in-car Wi-Fi capability are also available as an option. The MIB3 touchscreen infotainment system with wireless charging and wireless App-Connect takes the centre stage. Some of the other features include Heated and ventilated front seats, Heated steering wheel, Climatronic Touch interface for climate control, powered tailgate, panoramic sunroof, Fender Premium Audio, and 15-color ambient lighting. Most of these features are expected to make their way to the India-spec model.
The SUV has also been equipped with IQ.DRIVE driver assistance suite which comprises of plethora of safety features such as Forward Collision Warning and Autonomous Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Monitoring, Blind Spot Monitor, Lane Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Semi-automated Driving Assistance, Light Assist and Park Assist. Under the hood, the 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan AllSpace will pack a 2.0L 4-cylinder TSI petrol engine with a power output of 184bhp and torque delivery of 300Nm. The engine is linked to an 8-speed automatic transmission as standard with no manual gearbox on offer. The power will be transferred to all the four wheels via the 4Motion all-wheel drive, which will come as standard fitment.
