The German luxury car manufacturer BMW has rolled out the eighth-generation BMW 5 Series Long Wheelbase in the Indian market. The 2024 BMW 5 Series sedan is available at an initial price of INR 72.90 lakh (ex-showroom). BMW India will start delivering the 5 Series LWB sedan in September 2024. The all-new LWB sedan is manufactured at the brand’s Group Plant in Chennai. It is now available with a new interior and exterior design and a range of advanced features. Notably, the BMW 5 Series is one of the most famous car models in the company’s portfolio.
In 1972, the first-generation BMW 5 Series was rolled out globally. BMW has sold around 10 million units of the sedan so far. This is the first time the German automaker has launched a long-wheelbase version of the 5 Series sedan in India. The extended wheelbase model provides more legroom and better rear-seat comfort. It measures 5,165 mm in length, 2,156 mm in width, and 1,518 mm in height. The car has a wheelbase of 3,105 mm, which makes it the biggest model in the sedan segment. In the Indian market, the new BMW 5 Series will rival the famous Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
