The German vehicle manufacturer BMW Motorrad has rolled out the new S 1000 XR motorcycle in the Indian market. The new bike is all set to replace the outgoing 2020 model. This latest version has received significant updates in the form of new design, features, and performance. It will be brought to the country as a completely built unit (CBU). The BMW S 1000 XR is available at an ex-showroom price of INR 22.50 lakh. The bike is INR 40,000 more expensive than the outgoing model.

Interested customers can reserve the new BMW motorcycle at the brand’s authorized dealerships. The automaker will commence deliveries for the motorcycle in the coming time. BMW Motorrad India is offering the new S 1000 XR in three color schemes: Blackstorm metallic, Lightwhite solid paint/Motorsport with M package, and Gravityblue metallic with Style Sports. In addition, the automaker recently launched the M 1000 XR bike in India at a price of INR 45 lakh (ex-showroom).

BMW Motorrad is offering the new motorcycle with four riding modes: Dynamic Pro, Road, Rain, and Dynamic. The motorcycle gets a few cosmetic changes from its previous model, including a body-colored front fender and new rear side panels. The S 1000 XR sits 10 mm higher compared to its predecessor. It features a new seat for a more comfortable riding experience. The bike has a top speed of 253 kmph, and it can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.25 seconds.

For braking duties, the S 1000 XR gets a twin-disc brake setup at the front, and it houses a single-disc setup at the rear. Additionally, the bike also packs a range of electronic aids, such as lean-sensitive ABS, wheelie control, traction control, and cruise control. The S 1000 XR has a seat height of 850 mm that can also be lowered via optional equipment like a low seat and low suspension. The width and length of the seat can also be adjusted for more comfort.

As standard, the 2024 BMW S 1000 XR gets Dynamic and Touring packages. The Touring package includes a centre stand, luggage, hand protection, a slot for the navigation device, heated grips, and tyre-pressure monitoring system. On the other hand, the Dynamic package brings shift assistant pro, dynamic ESA pro, and cruise control. Customers can further customize their motorcycles with the optional M package, which incorporates special paintwork, an M lightweight battery, a M Sport seat, M forged wheels, an M GPS-Laptrigger, a sports silencer, an M Endurance chain, a black fuel filler cap, and a tinted sports windscreen. 

The 2024 BMW S 1000 XR is powered by a 999-cc, inline-4 cylinder with flow-optimized geometry. The engine can churn out a maximum power of 168 bhp at 11,000 rpm and a peak torque of 114 Nm at 9,250 rpm. The unit is mated to a six-speed gearbox along with a bi-directional quickshifter.
