Mini India is planning to launch the 2024 Cooper S hatchback in India in the coming weeks. The company has started taking bookings for the hatchback ahead of its official launch in the market. Now one can book the 2024 Mini Cooper S for a token amount of INR 1 lakh via the brand’s official website. Apart from the Cooper S, the brand has also started taking pre-bookings for the Countryman electric SUV. Mini unveiled the Cooper 3-door and Countryman electric globally in 2023. The automaker has updated the Countryman Electric several times.
The automaker has listed five colors on its website for the hatchback: Ocean Wave Green, Chilli Red, Sunny Side Yellow, Blazing Blue, and British Racing Green. The fourth-generation Cooper S has retained the iconic Mini silhouette, but it gets additional features and a more angular appearance. The 2024 Mini Cooper S features a redesigned front grille and new LED headlamps. It rolls on new diamond-cut alloy wheels and features the latest Union Jack-themed taillamps with arrow-shaped LED elements. Inside the cabin, the Cooper S hatchback comes equipped with a large circular 9.4-inch infotainment display, head-up display, modern steering wheel, Mini Operating System 9, toggle switches, parking brake, start-stop switch, gear selector, and ambient lighting.

The new-generation hatchback draws power from a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that churns out power of 201 bhp and peak torque of 300 Nm. In comparison to the outgoing Cooper S, the new-generation model gets an extra power bump of 25 bhp and 20 Nm. The hatchback can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 6.6 seconds. The engine is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
As of now, the standard Mini Cooper S hatchback comes at a price of INR 42.70 lakh (ex-showroom). The upcoming model is likely to be priced higher than the outgoing version. Mini will first unveil the Cooper 3-door with a petrol engine. The brand is also planning to launch an all-electric Cooper EV in the domestic market later this year.
The new-gen Mini Countryman electric SUV, on the other hand, receives a new design. It draws power from an electric motor that delivers 201 bhp of power and 250 Nm of peak torque. The Mini Countryman can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in just 8.6 seconds. In terms of features, the electric SUV will come equipped with Connected Tech, Level 2 ADAS, Digital Key Plus, an electrically adjustable driver’s seat, a fisheye in-car camera, and more.
