The European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP) has released the latest safety test results for the third-generation Suzuki Swift. The new generation model has scored a three-star safety rating out of five in the Euro NCAP safety tests. Previously, the car was tested in Japan, where it scored a four-star rating. The latest iteration of the popular hatchback has managed to score up to 67 percent, or 26.9 points, in the Adult Occupant Protection category. On the other hand, the hatchback achieved 65 percent with 32.1 points in the Child Occupant Protection segment.

Maruti Suzuki India launched the new generation Swift in the Indian market earlier this year. The Hatchback is loaded with a host of updated features and technological enhancements compared to the previous model. In India, the India-spec Suzuki Swift comes at a starting price of INR 6.49 lakh (ex-showroom) and goes up to INR 9.44 lakh (ex-showroom). However, the Swift launched in the international market is different from the Indian model.

The European market-spec hatchback is loaded with safety features such as twin front airbags, side chest airbags, a seat belt pre-tensioner, side head airbags, and a seatbelt load limiter for all occupants. For the front passengers, it features side pelvis airbags. The car also features Isofix and a seatbelt reminder system. According to the Euro NCAP crash test reports, the ADAS system integrated into the new Swift hatchback scored 62 percent with 11.3 points, while the Occupant Status Monitoring scored 0.3 points. On the other hand, the speed assistance system was given 2.1 points, the lane support system 2.5 points, and the AEB car-to-car system 6.5 points.

The 2024 Suzuki Swift launched in India features a range of safety features, including six airbags, hill hold assist, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Isofix, reverse camera parking, and more. The hatchback misses out on the hybrid powertrain technology equipped in the European-spec model. The new-generation Suzuki Swift is expected to undergo Bharat NCAP crash tests. However, there are reports to confirm these speculations. The company has already sent its car models, like the Grand Vitara, Baleno, and Brezza, for Bharat NCAP crash tests.
