BMW Z4 M40i Pure Impulse Edition enters India with country-specific updates in transmission, chassis, staggered wheels, and colors. It shares the same engine as that of the standard M40i.

BMW has just launched the BMW Z4 M40i Pure Impulse Edition as a Completely Built-Up Unit (CBU) in India. The Z4 series is known as a driver-focused and stylish two-seater convertible car.

The current generation of Z4 was launched in 2019 in India and is available in the M40i variant. This variant has the same platform as that of the Toyota Supra.

This fresh roadster car edition has a new transmission, updated colors, and a staggered wheel size. The manual and automatic trims of this edition are priced at Rs. 96.90 lacs and Rs. 97.90 lacs, respectively.

BMW Z4 M40i Pure Impulse Edition key updates

The sports car gets unique upgrades for the Indian market. It offers two transmission options. The first is the 6-speed manual transmission, which features M-specific components for enhanced feel. The second is the 8-speed quick-shifting Steptronic Sport automatic transmission.

The MT upgrade comes with the retuned chassis to complement the manual gearbox and enhance the overall driving experience. It has now refined software control for the adaptive dampers, variable sport steering adjustments, tweaks to the traction control and M Sport differential, new auxiliary springs on both axles, and a stiffer stabiliser clamp at the front.

The second major upgrade is the staggered wheel setup, which has 19-inch M light alloy wheels at the front and 20-inch M light alloy wheels at the rear.

The third upgrade is the launch of two new metallic color options of Frozen Deep Green and Sanremo Green.

Apart from the two new metallic color schemes, the new BMW also has an M High-gloss Shadowline variant, which has a black-out theme and model badging.

Apart from these, it features these standard features:

  • Black high-gloss exterior mirror caps also look sleek
  • Red-painted M Sport brake calipers are standard
  • Specially designed flaps around the rear wheel arches
  • Redesigned kidney grille with a horizontal pattern
  • Vertically aligned LED headlights

BMW Z4 M40i Pure Impulse Edition interior

The interior does justice to the sleek exterior with Leather Vernasca upholstery in Cognac with black M piping, which only exists in the MT trim. It also includes these standard interior features:

  • Interior trim strips in Black high-gloss
  • M Sport seats for driver and front passenger
  • M leather steering wheel
  • High Gloss Black trim finishers
  • Ambient lighting
  • Two-zone automatic climate control
  • Electric seat adjustment with memory function

BMW Z4 M40i Pure Impulse Edition engine and performance

The new BMW roadster has the same 3.0-litre straight-six petrol engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology, which produces 340 hp of power and 500 Nm of torque.

The MT version accelerates 0-100 km/h in 4.6 seconds and the AT in 4.5 seconds. Both of them have an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h.
