Porsche is all set to make a mark in the Indian automotive market by updating its most affordable Taycan range. The all-new Porsche Taycan RWD variant has been launched in the Indian market as an entry-level offering. The German automobile manufacturer revealed the Taycan facelift price in July last year. Now, to match the previous version, the Porsche Taycan RWD price starts at INR 1.67 crore (ex-showroom). Porsche has made the RWD variant 24 lakh less expensive than the mid-spec Taycan 4S, which is priced at INR 2.54 crore (ex-showroom).

Bookings for this new Taycan RWD electric car are now open across India. Previously, the Porsche Taycan EV was introduced in Turbo and 4S trims. The Taycan model is also available in the international market in the Turbo GT and Turbo S trims. However, the auto giant has not confirmed these trims for the Indian market. With the arrival of the new RWD trim, the Taycan has become much more affordable for Indian customers.

Porsche Taycan RWD Battery Specifications

Under the hood, the Porsche Taycan RWD draws power from an 89-kWh battery set, which offers a maximum horsepower of 408 and 410 Nm of peak torque. There is an electric motor on the back wheel. The Porsche Taycan RWD can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds. It has a peak speed of 230 kph and weighs 2090 kg. Compared to other Taycan variants, the RWD one weighs the least.

With the help of a 270kW charger, the Taycan RWD battery can be heated from zero to 80 percent in just 18 minutes. This allows users to drive the electric car up to 272 km in 10 minutes of charging time via a 270-kW charger. The good news is that the 11 kW on-board AC charger is likely to heat the battery 100 percent in 9 hours.
