Bajaj Auto has added a new affordable variant to its Chetak lineup. The all-new Chetak 2901 electric scooter is available at an affordable price of INR 95,998 (ex-showroom). Bookings for the new Chetak 2901 Edition are currently open, while deliveries are scheduled to begin on June 15, 2024. Interested customers can also visit their nearest Bajaj dealerships for test rides, product details, and bookings. The Bajaj Chetak 2901 is the most affordable variant in the brand’s electric scooter lineup. It is also less expensive than the revamped Chetak that was unveiled in 2020. Bajaj Chetak is one of the most popular e-scooters in India. In fact, in FY2024, it was ranked as the fourth-best selling electric two-wheeler in the country.

The Chetak 2901 electric scooter is being offered with an ARAI-certified range of 123 kilometers, which is preferable for everyday commutes. It has a solid metal body and features a modern-retro aesthetic. The automaker is offering the new edition in bold new colors to attract more customers, including the younger generation. The e-scooter is available in four eye-catching color options: Red, White, Lime Yellow, Azure Blue, and Black. The Chetak 2901 retains the dark accent for the lighting setup from the previous model, followed by black alloy wheels. However, it features a new decal up front and on its side panels.

The company has replaced the front storage compartment on the new scooter with an open storage bin. The scooter does not feature the remote key fob, which is available in the outgoing model; instead, it gets a regular key and key slot. The all-new Chetak variant has a top speed of 63 kmph. In the electric scooter segment, the scooter will rival the likes of the TVS iQube, Ola S1X, Ather Rizta, and Ola S1 Air.

Commenting on the launch of the Bajaj Chetak 2901, the President, Urbanite, at Bajaj Auto Ltd., Mr. Eric Vas, said, “We are pleased to announce the start of shipments of Chetak 2901 to Chetak dealerships. The Chetak 2901 is designed, specced and priced to attract customers who are currently purchasing a petrol scooter to a proper full size metal body electric scooter that can match and exceed a petrol scooter, without denting their wallet. The Chetak 2901 can be had for an on-road price close to that of a petrol scooter and comes with more than 123 kms of ARAI certified range. Retails to consumers shall start from 15 June onwards. We believe Chetak 2901 shall dramatically expand the electric scooter market."
