BMW India has rolled out a special edition of its 2 Series Gran Coupe named the 220i M Sport Shadow Edition, with a price tag of INR 46.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Shadow edition is around INR 3 lakh more expensive than the outgoing version. The 220i M Sport Shadow Edition will be assembled locally at the brand’s Chennai facility, and it will be a limited-run model. In addition, the brand recently launched the new BMW X3 M Sport Shadow Edition in India at a price of INR 74.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
Bookings for the limited-edition model are exclusively available at the BMW Online Shop starting May 23, 2024. BMW India is offering the 220i M Sport in two color options: Skyscraper Grey and Alpine White. The new offering gets an M Sport package as standard, which entails features like the M badging on the key, side gills, and Aerodynamics package. The 220i M Sport special edition now features a host of cosmetic tweaks, including blacked-out amenities on the exterior. The car houses a kidney grille, a black boot-lip spoiler, darkened inlays followed by adaptive LED headlamps, and floating hub caps on all four wheels.

Inside the cabin, the BMW 220i M Sport Shadow Edition gets significant updates in the form of electrically manageable sports seats, replete with memory function, and an illuminated Berlin interior trim. The new edition features ambient lighting along with six selectable colors and a carbon finish on the gear selector. The car has oyster and black color schemes for the upholstery.
Powering the BMW 220i M Sport is a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol powertrain that generates 177 bhp of power and a peak torque of 280 Nm. The unit is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch AT transmission. The new edition can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 7.1 seconds. In its segment, the car honks horns with the Mercedes-Benz A-Class Limousine.
In terms of features, the 220i M Sport is packed with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, Parking Assist followed by a rearview camera, wireless Apple CarPlay, panoramic sunroof, twin-zone climate control, a head-up display, BMW Virtual Assistant, and more. For safety, the Shadow Edition gets features like six airbags, dynamic stability control (DSC), attentive assistance, and more.
