The luxury car maker BMW has officially unveiled the next-gen BMW 5 Series LWB in India. The much anticipated 5 Series Long Wheelbase, or LWB version, is scheduled to be launched in the Indian market on July 24, 2024. The company’s upcoming iconic product will rival the Mercedes-Benz E-Class that will be launched at the end of this year.

In terms of dimensions, the BMW 5 Series LWB version is 32 mm wider, 212 mm longer, and 41 mm taller than the outgoing model. The car has a significantly longer wheelbase of 130 mm. The luxury sedan rolls on 18-inch alloy wheels. The automaker is expected to offer an extra set of bigger wheels with the sedan as an option. The LWB version comes equipped with significant exterior design updates, such as a revised kidney grille, a multi-spoke design, newly designed LED headlights, and sharper bumpers.

The BMW 5 Series LWB version has Matrix High Beam, which features glare-free BMW Selective Beam technology. The sedan gets a ‘5’ lettering on the C-pillar, flat L-shaped rear lights, and a high shoulder line. The LWB version comes equipped with features like Level 2 ADAS, multi-zone climate control, an 18-speaker Bowers and Wilkins sound system, a wireless phone charger, USB-C charging ports, and ventilated front seats, along with a power function.

BMW is expected to unveil this car in the 520i and 520d guises. The new 5 Series is likely to be priced between INR 85 lakh and INR 1 crore. In the Indian market, it will rival the likes of the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Audi A6, Mercedes-Benz GLE, Audi Q5, and BMW X3.
