BMW Motorrad has finally rolled out the much-awaited BMW CE 04 electric scooter in the Indian market, setting foot in India’s premium electric two-wheeler segment. The urban e-scooter will arrive in India as a Completely Built-up Unit (CBU). BMW is offering the CE 04 at an ex-showroom price of INR 14.90 lakh. The company will start delivering the new e-scooter in September 2024. The BMW CE 04 is the most expensive electric scooter in the country.

The CE 04 e-scooter draws power from a liquid-cooled, permanent-magnet synchronous motor that churns out a horsepower of 42 and a peak torque of 62 Nm. It can sprint from 0 to 50 kmph in just 2.6 seconds and has a peak speed of 120 kmph. The BMW CE 04 features an 8.5-kWh battery pack, providing a certified range of up to 130 kilometers. The electric scooter can be charged from 0 to 80 percent in 3 hours and 30 minutes via a 2.3 kW home charger. BMW is also offering an optional wall box charger for fast charging.

The electric scooter houses a powerful tubular steel main frame. As standard, it comes equipped with an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), along with twin disc brakes up front and, at the end, a single disc brake. In addition, the electric scooter features a preload adjustable rear suspension, Automatic Stability Control (ASC), and telescopic forks. It has three riding modes: Rain, Eco, and Road. There is also a ‘Comfort Package’ on offer that incorporates amenities like a backrest comfort seat and heated grips. The BMW CE 04 also gets a ‘Dynamic Package’ with features like improved ABS, advanced riding modes, enhanced headlights, daytime running lights, and adaptive headlights.

On the design front, the BMW CE 04 e-scooter has an elongated form. It has a slim energy storage unit which is placed in a compact drivetrain and the underfloor assembly. The e-scooter also gets standard features like LED lighting, a floating single-piece seat, 15-inch alloy wheels, a 10.25-inch TFT color split screen with Bluetooth connectivity, car-type vehicle charging, a windshield, a side stand with a park brake actuator, a keyless ride, and an on-board computer.
