The German auto marque BMW has silently rolled out a new variant of its flagship electric car, the i7, in the Indian market. The all-new i7 eDrive50 variant price in India is set at INR 2.03 crore (ex-showroom). In BMW’s electric vehicle lineup, the new electric sedan has replaced the i7 xDrive60 model. In its segment, the BMW i7 eDrive50 rivals the likes of the Mercedes-Benz EQS, Audi e-tron GT, and Porsche Taycan.

The latest BMW i7 eDrive50 is around INR 10 lakh less costly than the outgoing variant. BMW has set the price lower this time as the eDrive50 misses out on the dual motor. Additionally, the outgoing flagship model is packed with a twin-motor all-wheel drive configuration, whereas the new BMW eDrive50 houses a single-motor and rear-wheel drive configuration.

BMW i7 eDrive50 Variant Features

The BMW i7 eDrive50 electric luxury saloon features the same M Sport package that gives it a sporty look, resembling the outgoing version. It has a feature-packed cabin, which is covered in leather upholstery. The i7 eDrive50 variant features a rear entertainment package that includes a 31.3-inch 8K ‘cinema’ screen. In addition, the electric sedan also boasts a 3-spoke M Walknappa leather steering wheel, a Bowers and Wilkins sound system, soft-closed doors, and other comfort features.

BMW i7 eDrive50 Variant Powertrain

The all-new BMW i7 eDrive50 draws power from a 101.7 kWh battery setup that provides an ARAI-certified range of 603 km on a single charge. It comes equipped with an electric motor that is mounted on the back wheel. The electric motor is tuned to produce power of 444 bhp and peak torque of 650 Nm. As for performance, the BMW i7 eDrive50 can sprint from zero to 100 kmph in 5.5 seconds.

BMW i7 eDrive50 Charging Capabilities

As standard, the BMW i7 eDrive50 is being offered with an 11kW AC wallbox charger through which the battery can be charged from 0 to 100 percent in 10 hours and 45 minutes.
