BMW Motorrad is all set to introduce the all-new CE 02 electric scooter to the Indian market. The two-wheeler manufacturer is likely to launch the new electric vehicle in India this year. The CE 02 will be placed below the recently debuted CE 04 in the company's lineup. Notably, it is the first electric vehicle from the TVS-BMW partnership. Currently, the BMW CE 02 is being produced at the Hosur facility by TVS. This platform has been co-developed by BMW, whereas the complete manufacturing process is currently being done by TVS. With the new CE range of EVs, BMW Motorrad is aiming to attract new buyers worldwide.
The company recently launched the much-awaited CE 04 as its first big e-scooter in the country. The electric scooter has been on sale in international markets for the past few years. BMW launched it as a CBU (completely built unit) in India, and it is manufactured in Berlin. The bigger sibling of CE 02 is available at an ex-showroom price of INR 14.90 lakh. In Delhi, the scooter’s on-road price is set at INR 17,50,850.

The upcoming BMW CE 02 will be priced lower than the CE 04. However, it is not going to be an affordable scooter and is likely to be priced higher than its competitors in the segment. BMW has already launched this model in international markets, where it is priced above the 310-cc models. Powering the CE 02 electric scooter is a 2-kWh battery, which comes with a single or dual battery set option. The electric scooter comes with a certified range of 90 km and a top speed of 95 kmph, depending on the battery set.
The BMW CE 02 is likely to be priced between INR 4 lakh and INR 5 lakh. The brand value of BMW is strong in India, and its products are preferred by several Indian customers. The C 400 GT is the first maxi scooter from BMW in India. It was launched in late 2021 at an ex-showroom price of INR 11 lakh. Despite its high on-road price, the Maxi scooter managed to achieve huge sales milestones. The CE 02 is also expected to achieve decent sales numbers after its official launch in the country.
