Bounce has launched the Infinity E1 electric scooter (with battery and charger) at an introductory price of Rs 68,999 (Ex-showroom, Delhi) in India. It can also be availed with Battery-as-a-Service at merely Rs 45,099 (Ex-showroom, Delhi) which includes subscription to Battery-as-a-Service. Bounce Infinity E1 bookings are open at a refundable token amount of Rs 499/- with deliveries scheduled to commence by March 2022 through the dealership network and online platform. It is the only electric scooter in the Indian market to come with dual options in swappable battery – Scooter with Battery-as-a-Service and Scooter with battery and charger. It will rival Ola S1, Ather 450X and Bajaj Chetak.
The unique thing about Bounce Infinity E1 is that it can be purchased without the battery (a first of its kind thing in India) while using the brand’s battery swapping network instead. The buyers can pay for battery swaps, whenever they swap an empty battery with a fully-charged one from Bounce’s extensive swapping network. The battery version of the Infinity E1 can be charged at home by simply detaching the battery from the scooter. It is available in five color schemes namely Sporty Red, Sparkle Black, Pearl White, Desat Silver and Comed Grey. The scooter rides on alloy wheels while other notable features include a digital speedometer, 12-litre storage area and LED projector headlamp. Sitting on a tubular frame, it boasts of hydraulic telescopic front suspension and twin shock absorbers at the rear.
The Infinity E1 gets the 'CANBUS' Six-axis accelerometer where the overvoltage/undervoltage protection, side stand sensor, battery, motor controller, VCU, and the display all talk to each other. The company has also offered Bluetooth connectivity via which the rider can pair the Smartphone and control several functions such as Geofencing, Tracking, Battery Charge Status, Antitheft Alert and Tow Alert. It also features a 'Drag' mode which enables the scooter to move along at walking speed in case it has a puncture. Also, Reverse Mode and Cruise Control are a part of the standard features. Being locally manufactured at Bounce's plant at Bhiwadi in Rajasthan, the Infinity E1 with a comprehensive warranty of 3 years/up to 50,000 kms.
Bounce Infinity E1 houses an IP 67 rated waterproof portable 48V 39 AH 2 kWhr lithium ion battery which can be charged by connecting to any regular electric socket. It takes around 4-5 hours for a full charge with range of 85 kilometres. The battery delivers power to a BLDC motor which is equipped with an advanced FOC controller. The electric scooter has a torque of 83 Nm while it does a 0-40kmph sprint in just 8 seconds with a top speed of 65kmph. Bounce Infinity E1 comes with two ride modes namely Eco and Power. The braking duties are helmed by disc brakes at front and rear with an electronic braking system (EBS) which generates energy to recharge the battery each time braking is executed.
