Isuzu Motors India has announced the launch of its entire BS6 range of products on May 10, 2021 in the country. The product range will include BS6 2021 D-Max V-Cross pickup, BS6 2021 Hi Lander pickup and BS6 2021 MU-X SUV. The launch event will take place digitally via Isuzu India's YouTube channel. Though, details have already been leaked of the 2021 D-Max V-Cross and 2021 Hi Lander ahead of the official launch. Even several units of the pickup trucks for test drive purposes have also been spotted at the company dealerships.
The 2021 Isuzu D-Max V-Cross will be offered in two trim levels namely Z and Z Prestige. The Z grade will be available in a 2WD configuration while the Z Prestige variant will come in a 4WD system as standard. On the other hand, the 2021 Isuzu D-Max Hi Lander will be the entry-level trim in the pickup range. It will come with basic features such as halogen headlamps, black ORVMs and steel wheels with wheel covers. The cabin of the Hi Lander variant will boast of black dashboard, analogue instrument cluster and three-spoke steering wheel. Being the base variant, it will miss out on several premium features such as alloy wheels, fog lamps, AC with heater, steering mounted controls and touchscreen infotainment system.
Mechanically, the entire BS6 product range will be powered by a 1.9L 4-cylinder diesel engine which will generate maximum power output of 161bhp at 3600rpm and peak torque of 360Nm between 2000-2500rpm. The engine can be availed with 6-speed manual and automatic transmission options. This engine will replace the 2.5L diesel engine. The top-end variant of the V-Cross will come with a shift-on-the-fly system with a high torque mode. Isuzu D-Max V-Cross does not have a direct rival in the Indian market while the Isuzu MU-X will take on the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and MG Gloster. The bookings are also expected to start from May 10, 2021 for the Isuzu BS6 range in India.
