BYD India has been gearing up to launch a new electric car in the Indian market that is all set to replace the popular e6 facelift in the company’s lineup. Now, the auto giant has finally confirmed that the upcoming model will be called eMAX 7. Notably, the eMAX 7 is going to be a rebranded version of the e6 MPV. It is available in the global markets as the BYD M6.

The company has also listed the upcoming eMAX 7 on its official Indian website. According to the brand, the 'e' in the name of the new car denotes the electric drive, whereas the 'Max' highlights its enhanced range, performance, and features. Also, the number '7' symbolizes the brand being one step closer to the next-generation model compared to the outgoing e6.

The design language of the eMAX 7 is expected to resemble the outgoing e6. However, the eMAX 7 will come loaded with a new front fascia, rear, and notable design upgrades, including new LED headlamps, a redesigned bumper, an enclosed grille, taillamps, newly designed alloy wheels, a new bumper, and revised badging.

Compared to the BYD e6 facelift’s two seating rows, the eMax 7 will be offered with three rows of seating. The car will come equipped with the same dashboard design. It is expected to feature a larger infotainment touchscreen, a wireless phone charger, a larger infotainment touchscreen, a 12.8-inch touchscreen system, a panoramic glass roof, and more.

The BYD eMax 7 could also house level 2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) features, including adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, lane centering assist, and automatic high beam.

The upcoming eMAX 7 will feature a marginally bigger 71.8kWh unit. The standard BYD e6 comes equipped with a 71.7 kWh battery pack. It has a certified range of 530 km on one charge. The power output has also been increased to 204 bhp and 310 Nm.
