Ford India has launched the EcoSport SE at a starting price of Rs 10.49 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi) in the country. Being based on the Titanium trim, Ford EcoSport SE comes in both petrol and diesel fuel trims. The new SE variant takes styling cues from the America and Europe-spec model as it comes without a rear-mounted spare wheel. Besides the subtle cosmetic updates, Ford EcoSport SE gets the same set of powertrains as the other variants in the SUV line-up while linked to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard.
The EcoSport SE gets puncture kit as standard to enable owners to repair tyre damage within minutes. Some of the other features include dual-tone rear bumper with silver applique, 16-inch alloy wheels, Sunroof and 9-inch SYNC 3 touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and FordPass connectivity. The EcoSport is the only subcompact SUV to come with the globally renowned mobility and connectivity solution FordPass across its entire lineup. Boasting of a factory-fitted cloud-connected device, it enables the EcoSport owners to perform several operations such as starting, stopping, locking or unlocking remotely, via the FordPass app. The SUV is also offered with upto 6-airbags in the top-end variant as standard safety feature.
Mechanically, Ford EcoSport SE is offered with both petrol and diesel engines. The petrol variant draws power from the tried and trusted 1.5L 3-cylinder TiVCT engine which dishes out best-in-segment 121bhp and 149Nm. Ford EcoSport SE diesel is powered by the 1.5L TDCi engine which delivers power output of 98.5bhp and peak torque of 215Nm. “Customers increasingly follow global benchmarks in design and look for things that are unique and distinctive, just like the new EcoSport SE,” said Vinay Raina, executive director, Marketing, Sales & Service at Ford India. “The SE carries forward EcoSport’s fun to drive credentials as well as its rich legacy of outstanding safety and best-in-segment technologies like SYNC 3.”
