Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has revealed two new electric two-wheelers, the Activa E and the QC1. Both models will be manufactured in India. With the launch of these electric scooters, Honda aims to meet its ambitious carbon neutrality targets by 2050, focusing on reducing emissions across its products and corporate activities. The Activa E and QC1 are part of Honda's plan to introduce 30 electric models globally by 2030.
Honda Activa E

Activa E range and specifications
The Activa E is powered by two Honda Mobile Power Pack E: swappable batteries, providing riders with flexibility and ease of use. The scooter's motor delivers a continuous power output of 5.6 bhp, with a peak power of 8 bhp, making it a suitable choice for daily city commutes. Honda claims the Activa E can cover up to 102 km on a single charge, making it a reliable option for urban riders. The Activa E offers three distinct riding modes: Standard, Sport, and ECON. These modes allow riders to choose between performance and efficiency depending on their preference or road conditions.
Honda Activa E features and design
Retaining the iconic design of the Activa, the Activa E features sleek LED combination lights and indicators. The scooter also boasts advanced features such as Duo, which enables Bluetooth connectivity for phone calls and navigation.
Availability in India
Honda plans to launch the Activa E in phases, starting with Bengaluru, Delhi NCR, and Mumbai in 2025. Along with the scooter, Honda will introduce the Honda E: Swap battery-sharing service, enabling users to swap batteries at designated locations.
Honda QC1
The Honda QC1, another electric vehicle launched by the company, is a small and practical moped that will be available only in India. It’s designed to offer an affordable and eco-friendly transportation option for people looking for an easy and efficient way to get around.
Power and Battery
Unlike the Activa E, which uses swappable batteries, the QC1 is powered by a fixed 1.5 kWh battery. The moped’s motor delivers a power output of 1.6 bhp, with a peak of 2.4 bhp, and offers a range of 80 kilometres on a single charge.
Design and Build
Though the QC1 shares some design elements with the Activa E, it has a few distinctive features. The QC1 lacks the high-mounted LED DRL and wraparound taillights found in the Activa E. Instead, it opts for a simpler design with a front drum brake, which differentiates it from the Activa E’s front disc brake. The QC1 is compact and lightweight, making it an ideal option for short commutes and city navigation.
Technology and Comfort
The QC1 is equipped with a 5-inch LCD display that shows critical information like speed and battery levels. Additionally, it features a USB Type-C port for convenient mobile charging, ensuring that riders stay connected while on the go. The moped also includes a spacious luggage compartment under the seat, perfect for storing a helmet or other small essentials.
Availability in India
The Honda QC1 will be exclusively available in India, with a planned release in Spring 2025. The QC1 offers an affordable, efficient alternative for those seeking a compact, sustainable mode of transportation.
