Hyundai Motor Company has announced that the popular Creta has achieved yet another milestone. The automaker has managed to sell 6,00,000 units of the SUV since it was first launched in 2015. The SUV received its mid-life refresh in August 2020. In terms of sales, Creta has been a regular segment topper. It had surpassed the sales mark of 5 lakh units in August last year in the country. Moving on to the current scenario, 3,99,787 units of the diesel variants have been sold. While 2,06,956 buyers have purchased the petrol variants of Creta. Seeing the numbers, we can just say that the demand for the diesel Creta remains undiminished.

Hyundai Creta has always been in demand since its first generation. With the arrival of the second generation of the SUV last year, it has logged sales of 1.39 lakh units till April 2021. With this, it remains the best selling UV in the country. Furthermore, it is offered in a total of five variants namely E, EX, S, SX and SX(O). Currently, after the price hike, the SUV falls in the range of Rs 9,99,990 - Rs 17,67,400 (ex-showroom). Design-wise, it features a 3D cascading grille upfront. In addition, the SUV gets trio-beam LED headlamps with crescent glow LED DRLs. Other design bits include LED tail lamps, 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels among many others. Moving inside the cabin of the popular Creta, it comes equipped with a plethora of features. These include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit compatible with Apple Carplay & Android Auto, a 7-inch instrument panel with digital display, ambient lighting, 8-speaker Bose sound system, panoramic sunroof and many others. The SUV also gets a Blue Link connectivity technology with 50+ features.

Performance-wise, the new-gen Creta comes with three engine options. The 1.4-litre Kappa turbo GDi petrol unit churns out 138 bhp power and 242 Nm peak torque while being mated to a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox. While the 1.5-litre MPi petrol mill can be availed with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or an IVT automatic gearbox. The motor generates a power output of 113 bhp and a peak torque of 144 Nm. The 1.5-litre U2 CRDi diesel unit, on the other hand, develops 113 bhp power and 250 Nm peak torque. Transmission options here include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
