Automobile Industry, in general, is shaped by the consumer’s preferences and the brands who understand the evolving consumer behavior has the best chances of gaining the most. Mahindra seems to have understand it perfectly and hence, it has unveiled eXUV300 at the Auto Expo 2020 to gain attraction in the EV segment. Consumers are getting environmentally conscious and the rising sales in the EV industry are visible proof of that. Mahindra eXUV300 is set to rival Nexon EV and scheduled to be launched around 2021. The eXUV300 is the electric avatar of Mahindra XUV 300 and was a major talking point for the automobile enthusiasts, writers, and business leaders at the event.

Built on Mahindra Electric Scalable and Modular Architecture (MESMA) platform
Mahindra eXUV300 is built on the innovative Mahindra Electric Scalable and Modular Architecture (MESMA) platform. The SUV comes equipped with a 350V powertrain but the rumors that the production model might come with a more powerful motor. There could be 2 battery pack options in the EV model.
Exterior Design
The eXUV300 concept has the basic silhouette of its XUV 300 which is based on the SsangYong Tivoli’s platform. The electric SUV is available in white color and comes with unique headlamps and a closed-off front grille. There is a lot of focus on safety aspects like ABS + EBD, rear camera and parking sensors, ESP, driver and co-driver seatbelt warning, and high-speed alert.
Interior Design
The interior features a dashboard-mounted touchscreen infotainment system with blue surrounds to the AC vents. The analog instrument cluster with 2 rotary dials surrounds a large MID display which displays the battery status and other data. We can expect Apple CarPlay and Android Auto too.
Bumpers
The new front and rear bumpers separate it from the XUV300 and it includes a high-mounted stop lamp, lower black bumper with a lip spoiler and black touches to the tail lamp.
Engine
We can expect the eXUV300 to be powered by an all-electric motor connected to a high-density Lithium-Ion battery pack. Not much is known about the specifications of the battery or the motor but we can expect the vehicle to do around 300kms on a single charge.
The EV segment is seeing a lot of unveilings, showcasings and launches with rivalry between the top automobile brands steaming up. The launch of Mahindra eXUV300 isn’t expected before 2021 but we can expect the pricing to be competitive.
