The recently launched Mahindra Thar Roxx has achieved a milestone by securing a 5-star safety rating in Bharat NCAP crash tests. This makes the Thar Roxx the first ladder-frame passenger vehicle to receive such an accolade, underlining Mahindra’s commitment to performance and safety.

In crash testing, the Thar Roxx demonstrated excellent protection for adult occupants, especially in side impact and frontal offset tests, where full marks were achieved for good front passenger chest protection and the driver's chest on appropriate security. The SUV’s child safety score was equally impressive, with perfect marks for active operation and child restraint settings. In the Frontal Offset Crash Test, the Thar Roxx scored the highest score of 15.09/16, while the Side Movable Deformable Barrier Test scored a perfect 16/16.

Advanced Safety Features in All Modes
Mahindra has equipped the Thar Roxx with many standard and advanced safety features to ensure robust protection for all occupants. The SUV comes equipped with a range of features, including six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Seatbelt Reminder System (SBR), and 3-point seatbelts for all passengers, Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Lane Departure Warning, and 360-degree camera systems.
Thar Roxx’s Growing Popularity and Production Strategy
After the launch, Mahindra received a tremendous response, with over 1.76 lakh registrations for Thar Roxx. As a result, the current waiting period for the SUV ranges from 9 to 15 months. Mahindra plans to increase production to 11,000 units by 2025 to meet huge demand.
