India’s biggest car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki, is planning to unveil the production version of its first all-electric vehicle, the Maruti eVX, globally. The company’s first EV will officially debut in Milan, Italy, on November 4, 2024. Maruti has announced that the eVX model will not just be available for the Indian market; it will also be launched in global markets.
The all-electric Maruti Suzuki eVX will be manufactured at the brand’s Gujarat facility, where 50% of the manufacturing will be exported to international markets, including Europe and Japan. However, it will first be offered for sale in India. The Maruti Suzuki eVX was first showcased as a prototype at the Auto Expo 2023. The Maruti Suzuki eVX is expected to be packed with advanced features, including twin-zone automatic climate control, a wireless phone charger, a 360-degree camera, ADAS, a head-up display, and more. In the EV segment, it will rival the likes of the Tata Curvv EV and Hyundai Creta EV. In terms of dimensions, the eVX is likely to measure 1,800 mm in width, 1,600 mm in height, and 4,300 mm in length.
In other news, Suzuki Motor Corporation is going to supply its first electric vehicle to Toyota, further strengthening their global partnership. Both OEMs have already teamed up to manufacture hybrid-powered vehicles like the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, which are already available in the Indian market.
