Mercedes-Benz, a German luxury vehicle manufacturer, has rolled out the new AMG S 63 E Performance in the Indian market. The brand is offering the AMG S 63 E Performance as the new flagship variant of the S-Class range, marking the return of the high-performance car to the Indian market. The AMG S 63 E Performance is available at a price of INR 3.30 crore (ex-showroom). Based on the older generation S-class model, the AMG S-class was formerly offered as a coupe in India. However, the brand then replaced the previous version with the new-generation model, which is only available as a four-door sedan worldwide.

The AMG S 63 E Performance is the brand’s second plug-in hybrid car model after the famous AMG GT 63 E Performance. The newly launched AMG S 63 is the most powerful S-Class ever. The auto giant has also unveiled the limited-run S63 E performance Edition 1 variant in the country. The Edition 1 variant is priced at INR 3.80 crore (ex-showroom). The AMG S-Class will initially be offered in the Edition 1 variant. Mercedes will sell the Edition 1 variant in limited numbers.

Other design updates include AMG-specific software for the infotainment touchscreen, AMG steering wheel, AMG Exclusive Nappa leather, AMG illuminated tread plates, and carbon fibre trim. The Edition 1 version also features model-specific branding on its centre console. In terms of features, the AMG S 63 is packed with a 12.8-inch OLED touchscreen, Burmester 3D surround sound system, 64-color ambient lighting, 4-zone climate control, and the Level 2 ADAS suite.

The AMG S 63 E Performance flagship sedan is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine, which is mated to a 13.1-kWh lithium-ion battery. The engine can churn out a power output of 791 bhp and a peak torque of 1,430 Nm. The unit is mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission, and the 4matic system sends power to all four wheels. The new car has a top speed of 250 kmph, and it can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.3 seconds.
