The German luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz is planning to launch the EQA electric SUV in India on July 8, 2024. The brand is all set to expand its EV portfolio in the country with new car models. The upcoming EQA model will be the company’s fourth electric vehicle after the EQE SUV, EQS, and EQB. It is expected to be placed below the Mercedes-Benz EQB in the brand’s lineup. The EQA is the smallest pure-electric version of the GLA crossover and will compete with the likes of the C40 Recharge, Volvo XC40 Recharge, Kia EV6, Hyundai Ioniq 5, and BMW iX1.

Mercedes-Benz earlier announced plans to launch six electric vehicles in India in the coming years. The all-electric EQA is one of the six launches confirmed by the automaker. The auto giant will launch the EQA in India in a facelifted avatar. The same model was unveiled in global markets in August last year. The upcoming battery-powered sports utility vehicle will be introduced as a fully imported CBU model.

The EQA has a distinct exterior consisting of amenities like LED headlamps, a blanked-out front grille, a continuous LED light bar that is mounted on top, multi-spoke alloy wheels, a revised lighting setup, and tweaked bumpers. Mercedes offers the EQA electric SUV in a five-seater configuration.

Inside the cabin, the Mercedes-Benz EQA features a backlit star pattern on the door trim pieces and dashboard. The car features a touch-capacitive three-spoke steering wheel, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a digital driver’s display. The upcoming Mercedes-Benz EQA SUV will also house a range of features, such as turbine-style AC vents, a Burmester sound system with Dolby Atmos, automatic climate control, electrically adjustable front seats, ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, ADAS, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto compatibility, and more.

In global markets, the German luxury carmaker offers the EQA in four variants: 350 4MATIC, 250+, EQA 250, and 300 4MATIC. The car has a 66.5 kWh battery set that provides a certified range of 528 km (WLTP) in one charge. The EQA 250+ variants come equipped with a bigger 70.5 kWh battery pack that has a range of 560 km.
