MG Motor India opened booking for its recently launched Astor SUV at a token amount of Rs 25000 today. To everyone’s amazement, the SUV was sold out in minutes. The deliveries of the vehicle will commence from November 1 onwards. The British automaker aims to deliver 5000 units within this year. As for now, the bookings for this year have been closed. However, the company has opened the bookings for next year. Interested buyers can book the Astor through the company’s official website or by visiting the nearby authorized MG showroom.

MG Astor was launched earlier this month in the price range of Rs 9.78 lakhs - Rs 17.38 lakhs (ex-showroom). It is India’s first SUV with a personal AI assistant and first-in-segment Autonomous (Level 2) technology. Moving on, the car is offered in a total of five variants namely Style, Super, Smart, Sharp, and Savvy. Furthermore, the all-new Astor gets 80+ connected car features.

“MG Astor is a premium mid-segment SUV with elegant exteriors, luxurious interiors, and futuristic technology. We are ecstatic about the response we have received from the customers. However, given the global chip crisis that the industry is undergoing, we can only supply a limited number of cars this year. We expect supplies to become better from Q1 next year,” as commented by Rajeev Chaba, President, and MD, MG Motor India.

Performance-wise, the MG Astor comes packed with two engine options. The 1.5-litre VTi Tech petrol engine churns out 108 bhp power and 144 Nm peak torque. Transmission duties here are taken care of by either a manual or an 8-speed CVT automatic gearbox. The 1.3-litre Brit Dynamic 220 TURBO petrol engine generates a top power of 138 bhp and a peak torque of 220 Nm while being mated to an exclusive 6-automatic gearbox.
