MG Motor India has increased the prices of its famous Hector and Hector Plus SUVs by up to INR 30,000. The automaker is now offering the Hector at a starting price of INR 13.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and going up to INR 18.43 lakh on the petrol trims. In the Indian market, the SUV has become dearer by INR 22,000. On the other hand, MG Hector Plus has received a price hike of up to INR 30,000, and it is now priced at INR 18.20 lakh (ex-showroom). The price revision varies as per the engine and variant.

The Hector SUV is the company’s first product in the country. MG rolled out the Hector Plus as a three-row iteration of the standard Hector model. The entry-level Hector Style petrol version has been retained for the same price, whereas the diesel variant of the SUV is priced at INR 17.30 lakh. However, all other petrol versions of the Hector have received a price surge of INR 16,000-20,000. The diesel variants, on the other hand, receive a price surge of INR 18,000-22,000. This is not the first time MG Motor has updated the price of the Hector SUV. The two-wheeler maker had reduced the price of the Hector by INR 1 lakh earlier this year.

MG is offering the Hector Plus petrol-manual variants with a price hike of INR 20,000-23,000. The petrol automatic trims of the SUV have now become dearer by INR 24,000-25,000. The MG Hector Plus lineup now comes at a starting price of INR 17.30 lakh and goes up to INR 22.93 lakh for the petrol version. The diesel range, on the other hand, is being offered at an initial price of INR 19.82 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom.

The company has not made any significant changes to the MG Hector and Hector Plus models. The SUVs draw power from a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine that churns out 141 bhp of power. The diesel variants come with a 2.0-litre mill that generates a power output of 168 bhp. Transmission duties are done by a CVT on petrol and a 6-speed manual. The diesel engine mated to a 6-speed manual on diesel.

In terms of features, the Hector Plus and Hector continue to come equipped with advanced amenities like 18-inch alloy wheels on higher trims, LED reading lights, a panoramic sunroof, a 14-inch infotainment touchscreen, connected car tech, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and more. In its segment, the MG Hector rivals the likes of the Tata Harrier, Jeep Compass, Mahindra Scorpio-N, and more. The Hector Plus, on the contrary, rivals the likes of the Mahindra XUV700, Hyundai Alcazar, and Tata Safari.
