MG Motors have announced the name of the India bound SUV which is christened as MG Hector. The carmaker has also released a video teasing the vehicle which is being tested in extreme weather conditions and rough terrains in Keylong, Spiti located at a height of 6725 feet. Full details of the car hasn't been released as the car being tested is camouflaged.
The MG Hector will be a sizeable SUV and not a compact SUV. It is similar to the size of the Honda CR-V and MG Motors will keep the price competitive and substantially less than the CR-V thanks to heavy localisation of the Hector in India. The carmaker is expected to offer a 7-seater version of the Hector in India.
The engine details and rest of the specifications are still under cover but we expect MG Motors to introduce both petrol and diesel version of the Hector in India along with both manual and automatic transmission options. This SUV will be launched in the Indian market in June 2019 and it has been spotted on test several times on our roads.
