MG Motors is about to introduce their first car in India in the month of June this year. The MG Hector will be their first product that will compete against the Mahindra XUV500, Tata Harrier, Jeep Compass and the likes. After the Hector, MG Motors is planning to introduce an all-electric SUV MG eZS by the end of 2019 which will have a range of 350 km.
After the launch of the MG eZS electric SUV, the carmaker will introduce a 7-seater version of the Hector with a different name to expand their SUV portfolio in the Indian market. Post that, they will be targeting the compact SUV segment with a new product that will compete with the likes of the Ford EcoSport, Maruti Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon and the Mahindra XUV300.
MG Motors is based out of China and they have a target of investing Rs. 5000 crores in the Indian auto industry out of which they have already invested Rs. 2000 crores. The automaker plans to introduce value for money offerings that are priced aggressively and compete with the products belonging to the higher segments.
