Refined Design with a Coupe Twist
The Q5 Sportback is inherited from the regular Q5 in terms of front-end styling but departs from it with the sloping roofline and a unique rear profile. Full-width OLED tail lamps, a deep spoiler, and a two-tone bumper with silver accents give the rear a sportier character. This makes the Q5 Sportback a high-catching proposition for various luxury car buffs- the sportiness of coupes combined with the practicality of SUVs.
Modern Interiors Packed with Technology
The Audi Q5 Sportback Interior is characterized by an exceptional cabin fitted with modern technology. There are three equipment variants offered by Audi, namely Sport, S Line, and Quattro, to avail a different set of options to buyers. Audi's high-end specification trims get a novel technology called 'Digital Stage' screen which combines a seamless OLED display of an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.5-inch infotainment touchscreen. For the front passenger, an optional 10.9-inch touchscreen serves as the way to go for providing a tech-savvy experience to each occupant.
Platform and Suspension Enhancements
Audi Sportback features Premium Platform Combustion (PPC), the Q5 Sportback happens to be based on a significant number of developments from this platform - that of the A5 sedan and the standard Q5. Better dynamics and rigidity, new steel springs plus passive dampers have improved comfort, adding more air suspension as an option for a smoother but adaptive driving experience.
Powerful and Efficient Powertrains
The Q5 Sportback has available powertrains to suit a variety of driving demands. The Audi SQ5 V6 Engine is a 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine that produces 204hp at 340Nm. The more than adequate diesel powertrain has a 2.0-liter four-pot engine with 204hp and 400Nm torque. Both of these engines have been packaged with 48V mild-hybrid technology for better efficiency and an added boost of 24hp.
The serious SQ5 Sportback is fitted with a 3.0-liter V6 TFSI petrol engine with mild hybridization. It's currently rated at an impressive 362hp and 550Nm. All engines are mated to Audi Quattro All-Wheel drive system and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. This gives it a very nimble and smooth feeling while driving.
Launch and Market Prospects
The European road show for the new Audi Q5 Sportback will soon end. Upon its conclusion, Audi is expected to announce availability in India as competition with the likes of Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe. Audi currently has the Q3 Sportback in India and has taken another step with the launch of the Q5 Sportback that solidifies its position on the luxury coupe-SUV roster.
This super elegant design, up-to-the-minute technology, coupled with a set of motorizations, will clearly lead the all-new Audi Q5 Sportback into changing the luxury SUV benchmarks in the world.
