Maruti Suzuki, the largest automobile manufacturer in India recently launched the all-new XL6 in the Indian market. The XL6 is based on the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga but the manufacturers made quite a few changes to the MUV to make it more premium. Maruti Suzuki is now working on their next vehicle that will be sold through the Nexa dealership of the brand. It will follow the same strategy as the Ertiga and the XL6. The next car that will be sold through the Nexa dealership of the brand is the all-new WagonR. Maruti Suzuki has already started testing the upcoming, more premium version of the WagonR and it is likely to be launched in the coming few weeks.

Even though the name of the vehicle has not been revealed, it is likely that the premium WagonR will be known as the XL5. The car was spotted testing under a heavy camouflage on the Indian roads. Even though the camouflage, we can make out that the premium WagonR will get a few changes like all-LED tail lamps.

Even the front-end of the premium WagonR will be updated to add a completely different look. It will be similar to the Maruti Suzuki XL6 that received a new set of bumpers, a new grille and all-new, full-LED headlamps that make the car look much more premium and upmarket when compared to the Ertiga. In the WagonR, we can expect that the exterior changes will include new bumpers, new grille, headlamps and new plastic cladding all around the exterior body of the car. This will make a premium version of the WagonR look quite different from the regular version of the car. Also, Maruti Suzuki is likely to add blacked-out alloy wheels to the top-end version of the car, which will further make the car look different.

The changes will not be limited to the exterior. Even the cabin will be updated to offer a more premium and luxurious theme. Just like the XL6, the upcoming premium version of the Ertiga may get a dark theme cabin. Also, Maruti may add a few features to the vehicle to differentiate from the regular version of the WagonR. The powertrain and the engine options will remain unchanged.

Currently, the Nexa line-up of Maruti Suzuki offers a range of vehicles including the Ignis, Baleno, Ciaz, XL6 and S-Cross. The addition of the WagonR to the Nexa line-up will make the brochure diverse. The WagonR premium may also become the most affordable car in the Nexa line-up.
