The current-generation Nexon, which was launched in 2017, has already seen two major updates, one in 2020 and another in 2023. The Next-gen Tata Nexon launch will happen in 2027, which would mean the first-generation Nexon will have served a decade, an unusually long life for a modern vehicle.
Despite this long run, Tata has decided to keep the X1 platform, based on the old Indica design. However, the platform would be updated more extensively for better performance and safety, plus more structural stiffness. A thorough redesign of exterior and interior body will also put the Next-gen Tata Nexon 2027 in line with the company’s more modern design themes.

Powertrain Options for Next-gen Nexon Project
The Next-gen Tata Nexon launch date is however not revealed but the car is expected to carry forward the petrol and CNG powertrains. However, there is no word on the future of the diesel variant. The current 1.5-litre diesel engine barely met BS6.2 emission standards, and with BS7 norms set to get stricter, Tata Motors might reconsider its diesel offering in the Nexon lineup.
On the electric side, a new iteration of the Next-gen Tata Nexon launch is also in the offing. However, it is not confirmed whether Tata Motors will put out the ICE and EV variants simultaneously or in a phased manner. This introduction might also result in the increase of Next-gen Tata Nexon 2027 price.

When it is launched in 2027, the next-gen Tata Nexon will still be competing in the compact SUV space against offerings like Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, and Skoda Kylaq. With expected updates in design, technology, powertrains, and Next-gen Tata Nexon 2027 price, the car is looking to retain leadership in one of India's most competitive automotive segments.
