Nissan unveiled the second teaser image of it’s made-in-India compact SUV. The all-new stylish SUV will be launched on the philosophy, “Make in India, Make for the world”. This new SUV (codenamed EM2) resembles the Kicks SUV and is all set to be launched in India around September 2020. Competing against the likes of Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza among others, the upcoming Renault SUV, it is expected to be priced at around Rs 9 Lakhs (ex-showroom).
Not many details have been disclosed. It is expected to be built on the modified CMF-A platform that underpins the Renault Triber. In terms of cosmetic updates, upfront we expect the SUV to have a similar design as the Nissan Kicks. Though coming to the side profile, it will feature flared wheel arches with a black plastic body cladding running right across. Moreover, the new sub compact SUV is believed to come with a triangular quarter glass at the back with a wider C-pillar alongside a rear spoiler. With a floating roof design, the rear of this vehicle caters to new wraparound tail lamps with LED guide lights.
Pitched as a feature-rich premium offering, the SUV will offer latest technology as part of Nissan's Intelligent Mobility initiative. As far as the technical specifications go, Nissan subcompact SUV is most likely to feature a 1.0 litre Turbo charged petrol engine under the hood. This is the same powertrain that propels Renault Triber and comes matted to a 5-speed manual transmission and an AMT gearbox.
