In a bid to expand its Indian lineup, Nissan has revealed the fourth-generation X-Trail in India. The automaker is all set to launch the X-Trail SUV in the coming days. The new model will not be manufactured in the country and will be brought via a completely built unit (CBU) route. Nissan has announced that the India-spec X-Trail will be retailed in limited numbers.

The Nissan X-Trail will join the famous Magnite Compact SUV in the brand’s lineup. After its official launch in India, the flagship model will rival the likes of the MG Gloster and the Toyota Fortuner. The new SUV was rolled out in international markets in 2021, where it is now available in five- and seven-seater configurations. However, the X-Trail will be launched in the Indian market for the first time. The India-spec SUV is based on the CMF-C platform. It is available in three-row guise and boasts an upright and square outlook.

Nissan will offer the fourth-generation X-Trail in three new color schemes: Solid White, Champagne Silver, and Diamond Black. The 7-seater X-Trail will come equipped with a split-headlamp setup, rounded wheel arches along with plastic cladding, a ‘V-Motion’ dark chrome-finished grille, wraparound LED tail lamps, and 20-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. In terms of dimensions, the seven-seater X-Trail measures 4,680 mm in length, 1,725 mm in height, and 1,840 mm in width. It has a long wheelbase of 2,705 mm and a ground clearance of 210 mm.

The X-Trail SUV will be offered with a range of advanced features, including a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, dual-zone climate control, a 12.3-inch digital driver display, keyless entry and push-button start, and a wireless smartphone charger. The Nissan X-Trail features other amenities like drive modes, cruise control, and an electronic parking brake followed by an auto-hold function.

In terms of safety features, the X-Trail SUV will receive automatic wipers, a 360-degree camera, rear parking sensors, traction control, hill start assist, a limited-slip differential, and seven airbags. Under the hood, the 7-seater X-Trail will be powered by a 1.5L 3-cylinder turbo-petrol powertrain that churns out power of 163 bhp and peak torque of 300 Nm. The unit will come paired with a CVT gearbox or a 12V mild-hybrid system. The India-spec SUV will also receive paddle shifters. The fourth-generation X-Trail is likely to be priced at INR 40 lakh (ex-showroom).
