Skoda India has announced the launch of Kodiaq facelift on January 10, 2022 in the country. A few company dealers have even begun bookings for the SUV with deliveries promised from January 14. Skoda Kodiaq is being relaunched in facelifted form in the Indian market after a gap of two years. The European brand had discontinued the SUV in April 2020 when BS6 emission norms were introduced in India. Skoda Kodiaq facelift price is expected to be around Rs 35 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom) while it will directly rival Citroen C5 AirCross.

Being a mid-cycle facelift, it will come with a handful of cosmetic upgrades. The front fascia will flaunt a new grille with raised bonnet and redesigned headlamps. The LED DRLs are also new while the bumper has been tweaked too. The side profile is retained from the existing model, except for the design of alloy wheels. The rear profile also gets minimal changes such as slightly revised bumper and tail-lamp cluster. The Sportline trim will see the use of black elements in place of chrome at several places in the exterior, as we have seen with the Sportline variant of Skoda Superb. The interior cabin too similar to the outside will get very limited updates with the basic layout and dashboard design retained from the previous model.

The three-row SUV will get Skoda's new 2-spoke steering wheel which is already there in several other company cars like the Superb, Octavia and Kushaq. The Sportline trim will get an all-black cabin. The features on-board will include 10.25-inch virtual cockpit instrument cluster, ambient lighting, three-zone automatic climate control, panoramic sunroof, hands-free parking, front and rear parking sensors, nine airbags and an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The global model is equipped with an optional 9.2-inch touchscreen unit and it remains to be seen if it makes way in the India-spec model. Mechanically, Skoda Kodiaq facelift will be powered by a 2.0L 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with power output at 187 bhp while linked to a 7-speed automatic gearbox and all-wheel-drive system.
