Skoda Auto India is all set to launch the new Kodiaq and Octavia models in India. The Czech carmaker will launch the next-generation Kodiaq SUV in the country by the middle of 2025. Recently, the SUV was spotted testing on Indian roads. The new Octavia sedan, on the other hand, is all set to be re-launched in India by the end of 2024. The sedan was recently introduced in global markets.

The Skoda Octavia was launched in India 13 years ago. However, it was discontinued from the Indian market due to stricter BS6 emission norms. During an interaction with PTI, the Brand Director of Skoda Auto India, Petr Janeba, confirmed that the company will launch three new cars in India, including the Skoda Slavia. He added, “Slavia is targeting one segment, but Octavia is a completely different statement." The upcoming Slavia and Octavia will be imported into the domestic market. The automaker said that the company has decided to bring back these two cars to offer its buyers the classical sedan experience.

The Kodiaq SUV will come equipped with a fully digital instrument cluster, a full suite of climate controls, driving modes, air conditioning, and three new physical smart dials. Under the hood, the Kodiaq draws power from a 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine that is mated to an optional all-wheel-drive (AWD) system and an eight-speed automatic transmission. Skoda currently offers the Kodiaq in a single fully loaded L&K trim, which is priced at INR 39.99 lakh (ex-showroom).

The automaker has confirmed that the outgoing Kodiaq model will be retailed in India till the end of 2024. After its official launch, the next-generation Kodiaq will rival the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, the MG Gloster, and the Volkswagen Tiguan. The Czech carmaker will also launch the Superb sedan, which will be brought to India via the Completely Built Unit (CBU) route. Janeba stated, "We need to bring all the products that make sense because the brand is up and running with the models. The more cars you have, the bigger brand you are."

Skoda Auto is also gearing up to launch its first electric car, the Enyaq electric SUV, in India in the coming days. The company recently showcased this electric car at the Bharat Mobility Show in January 2024.
