Tata Motors, one of India's leading sports utility vehicle manufacturers, has achieved a significant milestone by retailing 20 lakh SUVs in India. To celebrate this historic milestone, Tata Motors has announced a celebratory sales campaign called the 'King of SUVs' Festival’, under which the brand is offering enticing deals on its SUV range. The company offers a range of popular car models in the country, including the Safari, Harrier, Nexon, Sierra, Punch, and more.

The automaker has reduced the price of its flagship Safari and Harrier SUVs. The Tata Harrier now comes at a starting price of INR 14.99 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Tata Safari is now available at a starting price of INR 15.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The company is offering discounts of up to INR 1.4 lakh on its other SUV models. Tata Motors is also offering enticing discounts on its EVs, including the Tata Punch EV and Tata Nexon EV. Customers who are looking to purchase the Punch EV will get a discount of up to INR 30,000. On the other hand, the Nexon EV is now available at a discount of INR 1.3 lakh.

In 1991, the automaker launched its first SUV, the Tata Sierra, and since then, the brand has pioneered the SUV segment. Tata Motors also has the biggest lineup of 5-star-rated G-NCAP and B-NCAP SUVs. The company showcased the Nexon at the 2014 Auto Expo as India’s first compact SUV concept. Additionally, the auto giant recorded a 2 percent surge in global sales in the June quarter.

Commenting on the achievement of a new milestone, the Chief Commercial Officer of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., Mr. Vivek Srivatsa, stated, “Our ability to understand the SUV segment and provide the right product for every customer need, helps us immensely to maintain consistency and dominant leadership in the segment. Supported by our multi powertrain strategy, our approach is to provide Indian consumers with world class SUVs that are robust, safe and technologically advanced. The achievement of the 2 million SUV sales mark is a testament to this approach and sets the pace for the future growth of the SUV category.”

In other news, Tata Motors has disclosed details about the new Curvv SUV and its electric iteration, the Curvv EV. These two models are expected to be launched in India this holiday season. The upcoming Tata Curvv EV is likely to come equipped with a host of advanced features.
