The leading SUV manufacturer Tata Motors has again updated its popular model, the Nexon, after introducing the diesel, petrol, and electric versions of the SUV in India. This time the company has rolled out the Tata Nexon in the iCNG version with a robust powertrain and more features. The Tata Nexon CNG price in India ranges from INR 8.99 lakh to INR 14.50 lakh (ex-showroom).

Tata Motors has now completed the subcompact Nexon SUV model with the introduction of CNG technology. The Nexon CNG SUV is powered by a turbo-petrol powertrain, which makes it the first CNG vehicle in India to feature a petrol engine.

Tata Nexon CNG Features

The Tata Nexon CNG features a range of first-in-segment amenities like ventilated seats, voice-assisted panoramic sunroof, a touch-based climate control unit, and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster with navigation. Talking about safety, the Tata Nexon CNG is loaded with safety features like a fire protection device, thermal incident protection, leak detection, 6 airbags as standard, automatic headlamps, a 360-degree camera, height-adjustable seat belts, a blind spot monitor, and rain-sensing wipers.

Tata Nexon CNG Powertrain

The Tata Nexon CNG is loaded with dual-CNG cylinders, which provide a complete capacity of 60 litres. This robust model has a boot space of 321 litres. It draws power from a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine that generates power of 99 bhp and torque of 170 Nm in CNG mode. The engine is paired with a six-speed manual gearbox. As of now, Tata is not offering the Nexon CNG with an automatic transmission.

Apart from the new Tata Nexon CNG, the company also offers the CNG versions of the Tiago, Punch, Tigor, and Altroz. In the Indian market, the brand claims that its CNG-powered vehicles bring in around 21 percent of sales in India. The new Nexon CNG is also expected to increase the company’s overall sales in the Indian market. In its segment, the Tata Nexon CNG rivals the likes of the Maruti Fronx CNG and Maruti Brezza CNG.
