Toyota Kirloskar Motors had increased the prices of its entire product line up last month. It had also announced that the price hike on its flagship models Camry Hybrid and Vellfire Luxury MPV will be effective from the month of July 2020. Now that July is here, the company has finally revealed the amount of hike on both these models.
Toyota has updated its official website with the new prices of these models. Thus Toyota Camry gets a price hike of Rs 1.14 lakh. It is now available at Rs 39.02 lakh (ex-showroom). Earlier the premium sedan was priced at Rs 37.88 lakhs (ex-showroom). Toyota Vellfire MPV, on the other hand, was available at Rs 79.50 lakhs (ex-showroom). The MPV has now gotten expensive by Rs 4 lakhs and is being offered at Rs 83.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
Toyota introduced Camry in India in 2019. The premium sedan was the first BS6 model from the manufacturer in the country. Under the hood, it is powered by a 2.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol hybrid engine that churns out 176 bhp power and 221 Nm torque. While the electric motor produces a maximum power output of 118 bhp with 202 Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to a CVT gearbox with paddle shifters. The hybrid powertrain is capable of allowing pure electric driving mode. Apart from that, the engine offers three driving modes namely Eco, Normal, and Power.
Toyota Vellfire MPV was launched a few months ago. It was brought to India as a CBU unit. Available in a single trim, the MPV draws power from a 2.5-litre petrol engine that belts out 116 bhp power and 198 Nm torque. It also gets two electric motors placed at each axle. The front-mounted electric motor delivers 140 bhp power while the rear one develops 67 bhp power. Thus producing a combined power of over 200 bhp.
