Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India is a 100% subsidiary of Honda Motor Company based in Japan. Honda entered the Indian market in the year 1999 after it entered into a partnership with Hero MotoCorp. After a decade of the successful joint venture, both the companies parted ways in 2010 and thus led to the birth of two competing forces in Hero MotoCorp & Honda Motorcycle & Scooter.

After the breakup, Honda went on to become a huge success as its range of Activa models became the best-selling two-wheeler in the country as of 2017. Honda has four production facilities located in Gurgaon, Rajasthan, Karnataka and Gujarat respectively.
