The roots of Fiat are much deeper than the FIAL formation. In the year 1951, Premier Automobiles Limited produced Fiat 500 for the Indian market. Three years later, the 500 was replaced by 1100. In 1973, Fiat 1100 was renamed as the Premier Padmini, and the later models soon followed. Uno and Siena models were launched under the Fiat name a few decades later.

Fiat has always led from the front when it comes to innovation and adaptation. The history of fiat began a long ago, and Italian industrialisation fuelled it further which led the legendary automaker to spread its wings throughout the world. Fiat entered India and formed a 50-50 industrial joint venture collaboration with Tata in 1997, together they released several models, and among those, the most popular ones were Tata Indica Vista and Indigo Manza.

The manufacturer’s plant in Maharashtra has the capacity to produce over 130,000 cars and engines besides aggregates and components. Furthermore, it is planning to increase the production capacity. Fiat is a global giant with names such as Alfa Romeo, Lancia Automobiles, Abarth together are the makers of cars such as Maserati, Ferrari, Lancia and Alfa Romeo.

Fiat has always been known for its attractive styling and exquisite engines. Fiat cars in India have adapted to the market and are performing well on par in contrast to the market leaders. Fuel saving and efficiency coupled with power packed performance are at the helm of every fiat car model. Thus far, the Italian manufacturer has introduced 16 car models since its entry into the Indian market with only four under continuation. Among the 12 car models which have been discontinued, Fiat 500, Fiat Siena, Fiat Linea, Fiat Punto and Grand Punto have been the most popular ones.

When it comes to the price of Fiat cars in India, one can argue that car models are worth the price. A new Punto Evo is priced between INR 5.8 to 7.5 Lakh whereas Avventura has priced between INR 7.5-9.5 Lakh, considering prices after GST. You can opt to buy a used Fiat car model which will cost in the range of INR 3-6 Lakh based upon the condition of the model.

Upcoming Fiat cars include Fiat Panda, Fiat Tipo, Fiat Viaggio and Fiat Agro which are due to be launched in 2018.
