About Toyota

Toyota’s legacy started when it manufactured the Type A engine followed by a passenger car – Toyota AA. Fast forward 80 years, Toyota is the fifth-largest company in the world regarding revenue. Not just that but it is the world’s largest automotive manufacturer. It is the first automobile company to produce more than 10 million vehicles per year and to add to these accolades; they have been doing so since 2012.

The company was founded by Kiichiro Toyoda in the year 1937, but even before the foundation of the company as a separate entity, it was under the governance of Toyota Industries, and in the year 1934, the company produced its first Toyota A type engine. Soon after its first engine, the company launched its first car named Toyota AA. Currently, the company is the largest manufacturer in Japan and owns five companies, i.e. Toyota, Hino, Lexus, Ranz, and Daihatsu.

Toyota in India works with Kirloskar Group, and it exports to over 70 countries around the world with Africa, South East Asia and Europe being the main importers. Toyota has been present in India for two decades now. It started with Qualis followed by Corolla in the Indian market. However, it was Innova which transformed the manufacturer’s hold in India. Among various Toyota cars in India, Innova, Corolla, Corolla Altis, Etios have been the most popular car models.

New Toyota car models include Toyota Innova Crysta, Toyota Corolla Altis – 2017, New Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. Toyota has a wide portfolio, and each of its cars is quite popular in its segment. Entry-level hatchback Toyota Etios Liva competes with Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Swift whereas sedan Corolla Altis competes with Hyundai Elantra, Skoda Octavia and other models. Toyota’s portfolio strength majorly lies in the MUV & SUV segment – Innova, Innova Crysta, Fortuner, Land Cruiser, Land Cruiser Prado are some of the best SUV & MUV models available in the country.

Price:

Toyota cars in India are not overly expensive. Entry-level Etios Liva starts at INR 5.8 Lakh; sedan Corolla Altis starts at INR 15.66 Lakh. A new Toyota car model in Innova Crysta is priced at INR 13.55 Lakh whereas popular SUV Fortuner starts at INR 26 Lakh.

New Toyota car models are introduced each year. Thus, the price of the newer model comes down and so does the used price. If you are interested in buying a used Toyota model, you can find the best offers on online portals.
