Aprilia was founded after the Second World War in Italy. During the initial years, it only manufactured bicycles. The first motorcycle was introduced nearly two decades after the World War II in 1968. The first scooter that Aprilia ever produced was Amico – First all-plastic scooter in Italy made in the 1990s. Piaggio and C. SpA acquired Aprilia in the year 2004. The acquisition led to the formation of world’s fourth largest motorcycle group with 1.5 billion Euro in sales. Under new ownership, Roberto Colaninno became the president of Aprilia whereas Rocco Sabelli became the Managing Director of the company. The founder, Ivano Beggio became the Honorary President. Aprilia SR 150 The Aprilia SR 150 is equipped with a disc brake in the front and drum brake at the rear. The scooter consists of metallic black alloy wheels. A standard telescopic suspension is at the front while the rear gets a single-side coil spring. The headlamps are similar to Honda Dio wherein; the cowl is integrated into the front fascia. However, the indicators have been positioned on the handlebar. The Aprilia SR 150 is powered by a 150cc engine, which is similar to the Vespa S150. The 154 cc engine makes 11.4 bhp and 11.5Nm of torque. The new Aprilia scooter model, SR 150 is the most popular one. The model comes in three colour combination – Red and White, Red and Black, Red and Green. However, as of now, there is only one model we can focus on.
