Kawasaki India has finally launched the 2024 Ninja 500 after teasing the bike just a couple of days ago. In the Indian market, the new Ninja 500 is available at an introductory price of INR 5.24 lakh (ex-showroom). The two-wheeler manufacturer revealed the bike at EICMA 2023. In the company’s lineup, the new model is set to replace the Ninja 400, which is available in several markets, including India. Kawasaki announced that the Indian-spec model comes with a single standard variant, whereas other markets get the SE variant as well.

The new middle-weight sports bike comes to the country as a Completely Built Unit (CBU). The two-wheeler giant is offering the bike in metallic spark black shade. In terms of design, the Ninja 500 draws inspiration from its siblings, including the Ninja ZX-10R and the Ninja ZX-6R. The motorcycle comes with twin LED headlamps, a compact windscreen, a raised tail section, split seats, a clip-on handlebar, and a sharp side fairing. The seating position is more upright, especially designed for a sports tourer.

The 2024 Kawasaki Ninja 500 is powered by a larger 451-cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine. While the bike retains the trellis frame from the Kawasaki Ninja 400, its engine is more potent than the one equipped in the 400. The 451-cc engine churns out 44.38 bhp of power at 9,000 rpm and a peak torque of 42.6 Nm at 6,000 rpm. The unit is mated to a six-speed gearbox and a slip-and-assist clutch.

At the front, the Ninja 500 comes with a telescopic fork and a monoshock at the rear. Braking duties are done by a 310-mm disc up front and a 220-mm disc at the back with dual-channel ABS. The new model gets features like an LCD instrument console with smartphone connectivity that enables riders to access riding logs, notifications, and community features. It also gets other features like a Type-C charging port, Kawasaki Intelligent Proximity Activation Start System (KIPASS), assist and slipper clutch, and whatnot.

In its segment, the Kawasaki Ninja 500 will give competition to motorcycles like the Aprilia RS 457, KTM RC 390, and Yamaha YZF-R3.
