Bengaluru, India – Ola Electric has decided to launch its much-awaited Gen 3 electric scooter, with deliveries now scheduled to begin in January 2025, a full three months earlier than originally planned! The move comes as part of Ola’s plans to cater to the growing demand for electric scooters in economy-friendly and premium segments in key states like Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Karnataka and Maharashtra. These areas have seen an increase in e-scooter usage, with the number increasing by more than five per cent in recent months.

Ola Electric Scooter Gen 3 platform promises some big changes, including a new battery design seamlessly integrated into the scooter's frame. This new battery with 4,680 large lithium-ion cells increases the energy density by 10%, increasing overall performance and thermal efficiency Besides, Ola offers magnetless electric motor results, with magnetic coils for improved torque and longer duration. The company has also optimised the system by integrating the battery management system (BMS) and motor control unit (MCU) into one high-performance processor to ensure efficient power management and efficiency.

Ola’s new electric scooter will include S2 and S3 models, which will cater to different prices. The S2 lineup is designed for daily city commuting, long-distance touring and sports wagons, while the S3 series targets the high-end market with two high-end models: the Grand Adventure and the Grand Tourer, both equipped with luxury goods and advanced technology. There is also a 22.5% reduction in manufacturing costs, making electric scooters more affordable to a wider audience.

Ola’s ambitious growth plan also includes expanding its retail network from 782 stores to 2,000 stores by March 2025, with a target of selling its 10,000 locations by the end of next year and will power Ola scooter has approached customers across India.
